The right wording to create a strong narrative
A strong script starts with a clear understanding of the video’s purpose, target audience and message. The first step is to define the overall narrative – what should the video communicate and how should it engage the viewer?
The script is then divided into scenes or sequences, where the structure and flow are determined. This involves describing the action, dialogue and visual elements to ensure that the narrative unfolds naturally. If voice-over is used, the text is written with a focus on tone, rhythm and timing to support the visual images.
Along the way, the script is evaluated and refined to ensure a sharp and focused narrative. Dialogue is adapted to feel natural, and the structure of the video is optimised to ensure that the message is clear.
Once the script is complete, it serves as a detailed plan for the shoot. This ensures that the story remains true to the original idea and aligns with the client’s vision for the project.
