Værftets Madmarked
How a local food hall became Helsingør’s social epicentre
Premium culinary experiences on the waterfront
The challenge
Elevating a great streetfood concept to a city’s hotspot.
The story
When Værftets Madmarked first launched in 2017, the idea was there, but reality didn’t quite match.
Technical issues like broken sanitation and faulty air systems created a bumpy start. Around a year in, with a new leadership team and a fresh sense of direction, we joined the journey; working closely with CEO Gry Brix to help turn things around.

Reinventing the atmosphere
With the new CEO came a clearer vision for the space.
Gry wanted to shift the vibe from “indoor picnic” to something warmer and more inviting. The result was a cosier, more lived-in atmosphere, shaped by a mix of materials, furniture and lighting that made people want to stay longer.
And it clicked. The true identity and the future for Værftets Madmarked was shaped.
Visual storytelling
Photo & Video
From the beginning, strong visuals played a key role in shaping the food hall’s identity. We captured the mood, the food, and the people through ongoing photo and video production; creating a recognisable and authentic look that could scale across web, social and print.
These assets continue to be at the heart of Værftets Madmarked’s communication and brand presence.

Design and print
We’ve contributed design work across all key touchpoints, from social media posts and printed flyers to the website, ensuring a consistent visual identity that feels both lively and down-to-earth, just like the space itself.
Marketing
A feedback-first growth strategy
Once the basics were in place, we analysed guest reviews; and the feedback was now overwhelmingly positive. That’s when it made sense to turn up the marketing efforts.
We ran seasonal campaigns, targeted ads, and content production; contributing to a growing and genuinely engaged social media presence. Some of the campaigns achieved click prices as low as 1 DKK, proving that a well-placed strategy can go a long way.
Meta Ads
Establishing and maintaining an impressive following on Instagram and Facebook.
Google Ads
Ensuring strong visibility in search results for locally relevant target audiences.
Targeted campaigns focused on generating interest among tourists visiting the city.
Website
A home on the internet that reflects the space
The website was designed to mirror the physical experience; warm, vibrant, and easy to navigate. It features a number of custom features, designed to serve the unique concept.
The website serves hundred of thousands of people every year, and the numbers just keeps growing.

Thank you for letting us belong
Some clients become more than clients. With Værftets Madmarked and Gry it turned into something special.
We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. We’ve pulled all-nighters, fixed things that were definitely not on the official service list, and cracked beers on Fridays like it was part of the brief.
Their space became our hangout. Our second office. Our chaos-loves-company creative lab.And Gry? She’s the unofficial mom of a-round, fierce, funny, and always two steps ahead.
From streetfood dreams to Helsingør’s go-to hotspot, we’ve been in it together every step of the way. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
It’s not just work. It’s family. And Værftets will always be a-round place to be.
The city’s real centre
As momentum grew, so did the vision
New outdoor areas, a second event hall, and an upgraded bar followed. Beloved by locals and a magnet for visitors, Værftets Madmarked is now a go-to venue for everything from weddings and sports screenings to big corporate gatherings.
It’s been recognised with the Gazelle award three years running, Byens Bedste two years in a row, and remains the central meeting point in Helsingør.
